Affordable Bonefishing on the Islands of Eleuthera & Acklins in the Bahamas
We offer budget fishing packages for anglers desiring to fish for bonefish on Eleuthera or Acklins Island, in the Bahamas. Our budget trips are great for cost-conscious fishermen and they provide outstanding fishing opportunities. Bonefish, jacks, snapper, barracuda and sharks are just some of the fish you’ll see, all while wading and fishing from shore! Hiring a local guide for one or more days is highly recommended, as it will allow you to see the most remote areas, and their guidance and knowledge of the local fishery is invaluable.
Here's what some of our clients had to say:
"We tried several of the spots that you recommended and saw fish at all of them. Savannah proved to be the most consistent, but was very tide and light dependent, best in the morning and right before sunset. Lots of tailers in small pods and large singles (and one shark that came out of the channel, made a bee line for Matt and gave him a good scare). All in all, I think you were right on with all your comments and very well organized. The room and view were great. I think both of us would consider doing another trip with you. Many thanks again and best regards." Dr. Alan Pollet--New York
"Hi Vince, the fishing was a little challenging on the windy days in the wide open bays like Winding Bay, Half Sound and Savanna Sound. We caught fish almost every day. The best action was the smaller places like Ten Bay and Palmetto Point. We went to Bannerman Town and Princess Cays along with some East side beaches. The facilities were nice, food was good and people were great. We will definitely do it again." Gerry Gorecki--Alabama
"Vince- Great time. I enjoyed fishing with guide Denny Rankin quite a bit, ended up going with him Friday as well. Saw the most fish at Savannah Sound, and the biggest as well. Got one Friday that went a solid 10 lbs. Thursday I managed to hook 6 and land 2 at Savannah Sound early and then went out to Deep Creek. Didn't see any bones there but got a big boxfish, small cudas and nailed the blue runners, little grouper and snapper at the point right at the turn of the tide. Best fly was 6 tan sili gothca, caught everything on that. I never got around to fishing the beach, too many other distractions ( Kaliks, etc.) I did snorkle a few times in front of the hotel and got some great shells for the kids. Mate & Jenny's was great & great cheeseburgers at Windchimes. I didn't fish as many spots as I should have, kind of overwhelming in a way, so much to choose from. I will definitely go back. The whole trip was a terrific adventure and your services were just as advertised." John Kirk--Maine
What's Included:
Packages include beachfront lodging, all meals, and vehicle rental on Eleuthera. A vehicle is not necessary on Acklins because you are staying on a great bonefish flat, with many more productive flats easily accessible by canoe/kayak--more than enough to keep you busy for a week! (If you want to do more exploring, a car rental can be arranged)
We do the work and take care of the planning for you. You are not roughing it on these trips. Everything is taken care of for you, so you're not wasting valuable fishing time finding the best flats, preparing meals, cleaning your room, or worrying about those things.
We make all the arrangements, provide you with tide charts, maps, advice on where to fish, and we’ll tell you what to bring and what not to bring. Besides fishing, there is world class snorkeling, shelling and the Islands of Eleuthera & Acklins.
The Bahamian island of Eleuthera is over 100 miles long with an average width of less than 2 miles. It’s inhabited by approximately 10,000 wonderfully friendly Bahamians. On its east side is the Atlantic ocean, and on the west side the aquamarine waters of Exuma sound. Even though Eleuthera is less than an hour flight from Florida, it could be another world away. Development has not yet marred this beautiful Bahamian family island. There are no malls, high rises or traffic jams. Life moves at a more leisurely pace here.
Acklins Island is one of the quieter islands of the Bahamas, and has a population of under 400 people. Acklins Island is approximately 50 miles long and between 1 and 6 miles wide. If you want to get away from it all, Acklins is the place for you.
Along the atlantic, or eastern coastline of Acklins are numerous hidden coves with extensive, beautiful beaches and a number of tiny, colorful villages. Nice bones can be found along many of these deserted beaches, along with barracuda, sharks and other reef fish. There are also many fishing opportunites on the bight side of Acklins, and exploring this area could take a lifetime. Hiring a local guide to explore the bight side is a very good option.
The Fishing
Acklins & Eleuthera both have hundreds of miles of fishable flats and beaches on both sides of the island. The tides on each coast of both islands vary by about 2 hours, so it is possible to fish the best tides on both sides of the islands in a single day. The fishing is good on the flats and in the surf as well.
The fishing options are varied. You can walk the beaches and hunt for bonefish feeding in the crashing surf, or cast out to the coral reefs for jacks, snapper and barracuda. You can fish immense sand flats, or go for tailing bones in beds of turtle grass peppered with orange and red starfish. If you like fishing mangrove areas, Acklins island has many, and tailing fish are very common. You can blind cast in deep blue channels for a mixed bag of species. You can just go for a swim.
Quiet, deserted flats & beaches. Fine white sand. Warm, crystal clear waters. Fresh seafood for dinner. Life at a different pace: your own.
We take the guesswork out of planning a budget Bahamas fishing trip. Leave the planning to us and enjoy a hassle free, affordable bonefishing trip to the Bahamas.
Eleuthera is great for couples & families too! Acklins is more suited to the die-hard bonefisherman who only wants to eat, sleep, fish & breath bonefish.
