This pattern is a variation of the Stacked Blond. The Stacked blond is traditionally tied with buck tail on a keel hook where the material is stacked. The fly is designed to be a cheap and easy to tie pattern that can be fished fast easily. The Cheap Blond is tied with Craft fur instead of buck tail. The most productive color for me in this fly is white, although I have had success fishing it in yellow also. Cheap Blond: The Traditional Stacked Blond:

love it !
what about joe brooks platinum blond?
the snake head (upside down, up-eye with eyes) is cool . psych o timmy will probably dig that a lot and tie some in fire breathing dragon colors, with the snake/dragon head too....... while listening to some heavy metal of course.

Thanks Bill! The stacked blond is a variation of Joe Brooks blond, just stacked on a keel hook. The Yellow one is actually upaside down and is tied on a down eye not up eye. Before I could find keel hooks I tied this pattern on a size 1 Daiichi 2220 hooks that I bent myself. Here is a dirty water brown my buddy Tom caught that was a victim of the cheap blond..
