here it is i'm sure you have all been waiting anxiously for the announcement. the second anual Grand Island NY CARP-O-RAMA 2007® will be held on Saturday May 26th. last year it was pretty small with all local folks involved. we (BOD Grand Island NY CARP-O-RAMA 2007®) would now like to open it up to people from other areas. providing of course anyone comes from anywhere else. guests will have to be aproved by the BOD Grand Island NY CARP-O-RAMA 2007®. apply by sending me a PM or e-mail. designated as flyfishing only with flies and only the waters wadeable from Grand Island are fishable. bass is open as well but the 5 lb smallies just want you to lose the Grand Island NY CARP-O-RAMA 2007® so don't be distracted. the only award is for longest carp. if you ain't first, you lost. fish from last year © © ©

well folks the time has just about arrived for the big event. unfortunately we haven't seen many carp along GI yet as this squirrely year continues to throw sliders. the event will go on as scheduled anyway and maybe we will remane it bass-o-rama. we will have coffee at 8am at Rick's house and plan on being ready to fish by 10 at the latest hopefully more like 9. we will then go fish for as long as we can keep interested using cell phones to keep everyone informed. cookout back at the bunker to follow and of course BYOB. anyone who need directions to Rick's should PM me or call at the shop on friday. see you there.

the numbers were down from last year but a sizeable specimen won the tournament anyway. Paul Jacob from Reel Action guide service took home the coveted trophy with a fish of 33" roughly. i didn't get a pic of the winner but Steve and Paul did so someone will put one up soon. there were scant few carp to be found in most areas but finally some were located in a remote bay and succuss was at hand. i personally did not land a carp, only hooking one briefly but did manage a fine bullhead. the event was attended by 15 participants and i believe only 6 carp were landed. many thanks to all who attended this years event. special thanks to Rick for the fine hospitality and Charlie for the killer wings and beers. here are a few shots of the event and next years dates will be announced soon. coffee and general milling around major award 2 giant donuts this year thanks John! bourbon? bass? Steve K. with a largemouth barse the under utilized bullhead fishery they're fun to land if there were a second place this would be it post tourney feasting Psycho Timmy on the grill our winner with the major award, congrats Paul! have a great summer guiding for those lowly salmonids in Alaska then it slipped away untill next year. thanks again to all who participated

Jacobs, you're lucky I wasn't there this year, you rat bastard. You have the central scrutinizer to thank for that! I'm going for your trophy next year.
