I have been getting more and more excited with each and ever day for the up coming salt water season. This coming season will be bitter sweet as things have changed quite a bit. Hence my decision to change things up a bit in the fly department. I am a clouser and 1/2 and 1/2 guy so I decided to try tying some hollow flys. They are quick and easy and you can create a large profile fly with minimal material. I decided to integrate "the Secret stuff" into this pattern as well as some cashmere goat. I have a feeling this fly will do well when they are busting bunker.

I just got back from Virginia. A shop I stop'ed at inquiring about salt fishing was well stocked with similar in the bin's I tied a few of them years ago after reading a Popovic's article. I think that style is the same used in Buford muskie patterns from Wisconsin basically. At least when I tied a couple last spring/summer it was very reminiscent but, multiple steps and os course some hackle tails, wings, etc. They used to call for buck tail. If you have not already you may want to reverse tie using some Russian, Cashmere, Arctic - goat. You can straighten the hair , really , really well with a cheap woman's hair iron btw - if not straight already. Nice tie wylie
