Just a question here about lining above rod. This was an early two hander that preceded the switch rod craze but I am sure there are a few here more knowledgeable about this rod. Anyway, I am interested in lining this rod for large rainbows. Are there any suggestions? Just want to ask the experts. thanks for our advice. mark

Nick - Actually, I am interested in both; I am planning on letting my young son use this for large rainbows cuz little kids really take to two handed rods. Primarily streamers but also egg flies - both overhead. I am also interested in what you use for scandi and skagit. Tried an SA single hand skagit 8 weight which seemed to work ok. I know you are the local resource for T&T, so very interested in your opinions on this rod and how to line it. Thanks Mark

scandi 390-420 skagit 420-480. overhead should be something like 300. for general purpose nymphing/swinging a Airflo 40+ 8 or 9 wt. 8 if more overhead and 9 if more roll and spey casts. straight nymphing, the Airflo Mend is really nice. i'd go with an 8. nice rod i used for a long time and still a classic.
