Something I have been playing around with ~
Off Muskie buck tails but for fly rod.
I refer to it as a Teaser.
Adds flash'er little like a spoon/dodger effect,, big fish chasing small fish, go from average size fly to large by looping on. Couple sizes of.
Easy to throw one or two in a box, silver, copper, gold -
If you tie tubes you may wish to tie a couple. 30# tiger wire,Rio same wire fits through no problem. If you use 80# fluorocarbon check you tube diameter first.
They a slight amount of weight to keep them from riding up. These have a large cone head (6 grains) on buoyant plastic tube. The cone also props , supports the bucktail collar which in turn props, supports the flash. The bucktail can be reverse tied and / or proper with the cone. 45 to 30 degree angle depending on what you want to do. K flash or no K flash. Black bucktail works for all but you can mix it up. I super glue (head) and wrap flat braid over the front like a cone then super glue over that. Pearl flash a bou would make a cool cone head too.
This is by no means in the tested, tried and true, proven anything stages nor is the tying method. It's just something I started playing around with a few years ago (posted concept here) and thought seeing there are more Muskie/Pie anglers here now and it's winter tying time some of you may want to whip up a few. It Will eat up Gobs of your flash and take about an hour first time put'zing around till glued done and in the end you may or may not like it. It does Not add much to casting (difficulty ) at all, they are light , mostly synthetic and shed water.
A 1" copper or alum tube would likely work very well to (reverse tie buck tail .
Laker's like flash,~dodgers out in the lake…………teaser pearly silver may not be bad swung on a big river either ………….
Enjoy the outdoors……
