Several years ago I inherited a bunch of fly tying stuff from a friend. One of the things was a Herter's No. 3 vise, which I really like. For as old as it is, it's simple, effective & does what it needs to do, although it is somewhat limited compared to the vises nowadays. I came across this other thing (on the right) that was also made by Herter's & I have no idea what it is. It's stamped "F-1." Any ideas? Thanks.

The F-1 piece is part of a wing maker system. I saw it once on EBay. There were 2 other pieces that look like metal combs if I recall correctly. I think the whole set went for like $150. Hope that helps. I have no idea how it works.

Bob...thanks much. It's a start. Maybe I've got the combs, too & didn't know what they were. Hope not. I might have thrown them out!
