Well, musky season is over so its time to tie flies I will never fish. I Attempted to use clear cure on the head and it soaked into the peacock.

Great first try!! I personally stay away from any uv resin for finishing heads on classics. I tend to stick with cellire. Awesome work on the body!! Keep at it and things will start to come together!! Frank

yeah dude, nice first! fish it Most of the nicer flys I tie end up attached to rocks anyway, so it will give you an excuse to build another. There is a way to kink the wing stems so they lay flat(er) against the body, ask Charlie... good job lining up the crests

Here is attempt number two. The body is extremely fun but the wing took three tries this time around. The topping does not look that long in person but I guess the photo magnifies all the issues. I also didn't see that bump on the bottom of the tag until just now either whoops. Both are on a size 3 AJ.

Nice job Riley, on both flies! I like the proportions a little better on the first one, but they are both nice as hell. Keep making them and you will only get better.
