Thanks Nick! I'm really enjoying tying. Can't wait to try these babies out on some chrome.

Scott...what I'll do for the egg sucking leeches is put a weighted orange bead for the head. It's worked good in current for me & I don't have to add split shots. For the egg patterns, I also like to add a small bead next to the eye & then tie the yarn. It'll add just a touch of weight to keep it near the bottom. I've found that if I tie just with yarn or feathers, they'll have a tendency to float too much for my liking. They look good though! Nothing wrong with those!

John....I'm going to do some bead head eggs next tie, what size bead do you recommend? 3/16? 7/64? Here are a few more ties I recently did.

Scott...I tend to like to use the larger bead, mainly because the yarn tends to float so the heavier bead offsets that tendency. Of course, it's all b.s. theory (my own theory, that is). When I first started using beads on the head, I was using beads that were too big & the bead ended up crowding the eye, so much so that it was difficult to thread the tippet thru the eye.
Additionally, my preference is to fish faster water, or at the seam of faster water. I never liked dead drifting in the slower current anyway so a slightly heavier bead will help to fish it near the bottom. Hope it helps.
