What is everyone thought on tippet rings? Do you use them? What are the pros and cons? When indicator fishing for Trib Steelies I use a small barrel swivel to connect my tippet like I used to use when Float fishing with a spinning rig. I feel like when I don't have one incorporated into the leader I catch more fish.

I use the tiny ones for trouts. For both nymphing and dry. Some scoff at their use with dries, but I never noticed a problem. Though admittedly, I might not offer the most delicate presentations out there. They're just great for not having to cut into your leader every time you need to add or change tippet material. I just double davy knot to either side, and have yet to break off other than the occasional hookup with a tree. They're so minuscule that they don't sink, or splash. Not much bigger than a double surgeons knot really. Could hinge if your taper makes too abrupt a change I suppose. Just make sure when you tie the first side on, that it's still on the pin or loop it came on, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.
