The Originator of this fly, Doug Read of Williamsville New York, developed this fly for fishing the Miramichi River in New Brunswick. Since that time the fly has also proved to be a good fly on rivers of the north shore of Quebec. Hook: Up eye salmon hook. Tag: Fine oval gold tinsel and fluorescent green floss. Tail: golden pheasant crest. Butt: Black ostrich herl. Body: Oval silver tinsel with a green hackle in the middle. Wing: Green under blue SLF hanks. Hackle: Blue hackle tied in as a collar.
