Paul Leblanc, a well-known fly tier from Montreal, Quebec, originated this fly. Leblanc was the Atlantic Salmon Federation’s “Fly Tier of the Year” in 1989 and this fly was the “Fly of the Year”. Since that time it has been a very popular fly wherever dry flies are used for salmon. The fly is most affective when dead drifted over fish or potential a lie but it can also be swung on a tight line making a “V” wake on the surface.
