This fly was invented by Shirley Woods in 1973 for fishing the St. Ann River. It was named after her friend Major General Roger Rowley. Since it was invented it has become one of the better known green flies in North America. Hook: Up eye salmon hook. Tag: Fine oval silver tinsel and yellow floss. Tail: Peacock sword fibers. Rib: Oval silver tinsel. Body: Green seal fur or substitute. Wing: Gray fox. Cheeks: Jungle cock. Hackle: Yellow then green hackle. Head: Black
