This version of the buck bug was invented by Don Leyden of Brookfield Center, Connecticut in 1953. The fly was originally tied with a wool body. Tag: Fine silver tinsel and fluorescent green and/or red floss. Body: Spun black deer body hair trimmed to a slim cigar shape. Hackle: Brown or black saddle hackle wound through the body Head: Black
