This version of the Intruder works well in the winter for great lakes steelhead. Tube: Brass, Copper, Aluminum or Plastic. Thread: Black Tag: Oval silver tinsel. Rear Hackle: Long, soft, black hackle (pheasant rump works well). Feelers: Nine strands of dyed-purple ostrich plume, on each side of hook shank followed by large dyed purple pheasant rump wound as a hackle. Body: Purple chenille Body Hackle: Long, skinny badger hackle over the body (I usually counter rib this with fine silver wire). Collar: Small clump of black deer hair spun with the butts trimed flush with the shank followed by large dyed purple pheasant rump wound as a hackle. Wing: Two dyed-purple grizzly hackles on each side of the shank Hackle: Dyed-purple Guinea hackle. Head: One turn of small black chenille and some lead eyes.
