OK sports fans we have just about the whole lineup set right now so i may as well turn it loose. we have a couple of new tyers this season and both are very welcomed additions. we will start on the 8th of January and run through the 26th of February. every Saturday starting at 2pm and going through 4pm. we will have coffee and doughnuts on hand and everyone is welcome to attend. these are strictly demonstrations not classes so do not bring tying equipment. they are, of course, free. i have one request from attendee's and that is if you are going to have a conversation that is not about the demo being done please move to the back or even outside so as not to distract from the demo. it's a very casual atmosphere and banter and questions are encouraged but, discussing, as an example, vertically challenged, African Americans with gender issues are not, Timmy. Thank you. there is a possibility of this lineup changing so check back to be certain and to see who gets the last day. Jan 8th- Brent Kelley, Flies for selective trout Jan 15th- Mark Libertone, Soft hackle and wet flies Jan 22nd- Vern-O, TBA Jan 29th- Ray Tucker, TBA Feb 5th- Charlie Dickson- Traditional Flies for Salmon and Steelhead Feb 12th- Tom Haley, Flies for the Delaware River Feb 19th- Steve Wascher, Deer hair patterns Feb 26th- Nick Pionessa- Tube Flies

Nice looking line up. Unfortunately I will miss the first two demos. I did catch Brent's demo last year and it was great. Mark however I will be missing but I am sure It's going to be a great one.
If you haven't attended one of these demos yet make sure you get your ass's in there. They're a great time and you won't regret stopping by I promise!
Thanks Nick for hosting these demos and taking the time to throw it all together..... And for making the coffee!
See everyone there!

Nick - At this point I am planning on tying some bucktail patterns, blondes, maybe a flatwing leech pattern, and perhaps a couple other patterns I have had success fishing in the local (western ny) streams. Looking forward to it! Should be fun.

Fly Tying demonstration- January 8th by Brent Kelley
For some years I have been focusing my tying efforts on developing productive and effective uses for CDC feathers that capitalize on their unique qualities. I firmly believe that CDC feathers- both full size and oiler puffs- offer some amazing advantages to the fly tyer and also the fly fisherman. Not surprisingly, then, I want to share some of these techniques during my demonstration. Although CDC feathers have many advantages, they must be handled according to their needs in order to make full use of their beneficial characteristics. Like any material, appropriate decisions about their use are critical to the ultimate success of the pattern. In particular, I find CDC feathers highly effective for various styles of wings and my demo will focus on this area. Although I will emphasize tying techniques rather than patterns, I will tie mayfly duns, mayfly emergers, mayfly spinners, midges and various styles of caddis. Many of the demonstrated techniques are readily adaptable to a variety of uses for the entire spectrum of fly tying.

I'll be doing some flies with Fish Skulls, Nick's Pick, Hybryd Crayfish, Klod Hopper, and what ever else I can fit in. If you have requests send me a PM and I'll see what I can do

Hi all, On the 15th, I'll be tying wet flies, mostly wingless, however I could also do a winged wet or two. I will go over a few new techniques I've picked up from various resources for tying wets. Will be talking about some traditional tying methods and materials as well as I tie. I'll also be discussing some techniques for fishing wets. I think a lot of people would like to know more about how to fish these flies as well. Bring your questions, and I'll see what I can do about answering them.

Great job today, Brent! I enjoyed your tying demonstration very much. Those CDC patterns look deadly.
