Great tying demonstration Vern (VERN-O)! It was a real treat watching you tye again. That venison sausage chili was awesome! Those habanero peppers pack some serious heat.
Great job!

I had a great time as always......the chili this year was void of venison....just beef and pork (I forgot to mention that)..... Always glad to share....and the extra bonus was Nick being able to fit the fish skulls with HMH tubings......I can't stress enough that everyone checks out Ray's (letumgo) demo next week. He's got a wide range of tying skills!!!

yeah man, great job Vern and kick ass chili too. i type as i polish off the last mini cup cake, fine job Mrs. Burm.
i fiddled with the skull/tube combo and no problemo. i found the small skulls with the HMH thick walled liner tube covered with med hybrid was perfect for a better minnow variation. i cut the hybrid at and angle as in the coon dog sbs and lined it with the liner tube. spun the belly color in a loop over the slant cut part then a topping of finn coon and ostrich out onto the liner tube. push the liner tube through the skull until the fly fits right in and then trim off the liner tube in front of the skull and melt it back. very similar to the coon dog conehead. in fact the coon dog should work well too. i will get some photos of this asap. the medium skull worked well with just the hybrid but i'm not totally happy with the way the hybrid melts back, further fiddling needed.

Thanks Ray for putting together a great demo today. I liked your bit on the home made dubbing and you explained everything real well. I had to leave a bit early to get the car back to the old lady in time for her outing but I wish I could have stayed. Great job and thanks for putting it together for us. I really enjoyed it.
