hey guys...thanks for being in the tie & making some real beauties. I'm going out today & there are some patterns that will see the H2O. When the other group (of 12) saw the flies that we tied, some of them said "SH**T, they're better than the ones we tied" I'm still try to figure out what's "not good enough" about them. I had a real good time meeting the faces behind the names. maybe we'll see each other on the water sometime. I'll post some pics of the group & take some individual shots of each fly. If anyone has a talent for photography & a good camera & light box, please feel free to post the pics yourself. I just have a Canon A430 & it's not the best for getting a quality closeup.
Keep your eyes on the board for the next tie, which we talked about being a charity tie. dave19: so far, yesterday these guys told me they were in on the next one: genghis78 & nsn prob don't even know about it yet. JJ cole Anthony K hershey double nickel

nsn...keep your eyes on the board. a charity tie was one of the things talked about, along with other ways of swapping, but there were a lot of things talked about, half of which I don't even remember. the best thing to do is keep a watch here.
BTW, after I collected your share of the flies, I asked the group of 12 if they wanted to split up your share & they jumped at the chance. Those flies were gone real quick. They went after those flies like a pack of hound dogs in heat. Thanks for your ties & letting the other guys split them up. They were beaut's. The "not good enough" group got seven each. Charlie was gracious enough to tie a batch for us, something he did in his spare time when he has nothing else to do & should really belong in a museum. I don't know how he does it, but I'm glad he does.

Anybody take any fly pictures? I couldn't make it down and always dig seeing what everyone came up with.

Here are a few pics. I apologize for the less than good quality and detail. It certainly doesn't do these flies the justice they deserve. Many of these guys told me they've been tying for only a year or less. I took a WAG at matching the names & flies & I apologize if they got mixed. Please correct as needed & feel free to share your recipes. the Soylent Green Fly shown above is from genghis78. He even printed the recipe & a short narrative on its use. Very cool hershey tied the one above. He had the group of them pose for a family portrait on pg. 3 doublenickel signed up to tie the squidro, a mostly artificial tie. I think that's the squidro shown above since it's mostly artificial. if you read his previous post, he calls it almost blasphemous for being tied with artificials. There's nothing blasphemous about this baby. nsn's "the F - it fly" (above) tied clouser style. Big beefy flies for those big browns. Goes well with his swap. Wimpy fish need not apply. Charlie even donated a batch even though he didn't swap with us. I have to apologize on the focus & lack of detail, but if you've seen his flies, nothing is out of place. Very gracious of him to tie for the group. Anthony K did the Street Walker below & also included a 3 X 5 card with the recipe. For his first swap, that was a nice gesture. and while you're at it, check out the smooth head on the St. Walker and another pic with description This is Cole's purple variant. a nice combination of colors. I'll have to try another pic to bring out the colors. enjoy..I've got a few pics of the group slaving over their ties. I'll post tomorrow.

Mine was the "Street Walker". Had a great time at the swap and was really impressed with the flies I received. Looking forward to next time !
