just a little update for saturday's demo. i will be doing tube flies of about any description i can come up with. also using as many different types of tubes as possible. i will show it from the ground up, basically putting it all together for each fly. at the end of the demo i will be demonstrating how to "burn" feathers for spey hackle. i get a ton of questions on this and it is much easier to show than talk about. i'll probably tie up to 3:45 and then spend about half an hour on burning. hope to see you there. burned schlappen spey fly

Sorry I could not make Brent's tying demo. I'm sure it was good. Wish I could be tying as well, but certain things are preventing me from being there. Hope all the tiers do a great job, as I'm sure they will.

nick...thanks for very nice demo this afternoon. Very enjoyable & it made tying tube flies easier than it sometimes seems. There were a couple of tube flies that particularly interested me. One was the minnow imitation with the dumbell eyes & raccoon wing & a couple of strands of ostrich herl. The other had (in order of tying) schlappen, marabou, and a mallard flank all on a plastic (?) tube. The flank you ran the scissors across. Would it be possible for you to post pics of those two along with their recipes? Thanks..jj

Nick - I just wanted to give you a heads-up that for my tying demonstration, I am planning to tye some simple fishing patterns. I planning to do some patterns that I used successfully to fish around Western New York. I hope to demonstrate a couple simple foam patterns, that have a couple techniques I hope people would be interested in seeing. Nothing fancy. Just flies that catch fish.
