"So, when will the winter spawn bag swap flies be due?" my thoughts exactly haha Think we are aiming for the weekend after thanksgiving ..... I will have a link up soon. Frank, I love the pattern you came up with, and Im sure everyone else will as well. Anyone who cannot pick flies up from the shop (I know Frank and Wylie will need them mailed) Let me know so it can be arranged

Glad you like them Dave. Just so everyone is clear, the pattern is the Deschutes Madness by Dave McNeese. All I did was change the colors up for a different look.

Thanks for the pics Charlie! Since the Pic of my fly is up, here's the Recipe:
Front hook (shank): straight eye streamer (remove hook point and bend after the fly is done) Rear hook: something strong, short, and sharp connecting line: loop of 30# braid 1.5x hook shank length (in hindsight, i probably should have used something stiffer) Eyes: 3/16" spirit river real eyes- white
materials in order that they are tied on (from hook bend to eye) -2 wraps of purple rabbit zonker -8-10 strands of orange ostrich herl dispersed evenly around the hook shank, even with eye of rear hook -orange ice dub -2 grizz dyed orange saddle hackles on same side of shank as eyes, length to bend of rear hook -2 wraps of purple rabbit zonker -2 golden grizzly neck hackles tied on opposite side of shank as eyes, length to match saddle hackles -orange ice dub around the hourglass eyes and to eye of hook
I'd like to see the recipes of the other swapper's flies. They all are worth tying multiples of. Thanks again to everybody!

Nine is mine.
Pretty easy, but effective. Streamer hook, size 4-10. Arctic fox/rabbit fur for tail, tie in some oval tinsel and some chenille. Wrap chenille to 2/3, generously rib with oval tinsel, tie in a good hackle feather, take 5-6 wraps, tie it down.
this worked pretty well for me last year, i hope it does for all of you, too.
